CEO & Managing Principal
Chris Corr
Mr. Corr is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Principal of The Storage Investment Group, LLC. In this capacity, Mr. Corr is responsible for the company’s strategic direction, overseeing daily business processes and procedures including but not limited to deal sourcing, negotiations, structured finance, due diligence, property valuation, capital & equity partnerships and investor relations.
Mr. Corr has held senior management positions at three of the nation’s largest real estate investment trusts where he has played a leading role in the negotiation and structuring of complex acquisition and financing strategies across a broad spectrum of property types including self-storage, office, industrial, multifamily, and retail. Most recently, Mr. Corr was Director of National Acquisitions & Development for CubeSmart, the nation’s third largest self storage Real Estate Investment Trust. While at CubeSmart, Mr. Corr transacted over $100 million of acquisition and development deals nationally. Throughout his career, Mr. Corr has been responsible for site development & planning, financing, building design, municipal, state & federal land development approvals, project pricing, contract letting, construction supervision, marketing research & planning and leasing of both single building and large-scale commercial development projects with an aggregate square footage of over 5 million square feet and an aggregate value of more than $1 billion.
Mr. Corr began his career in commercial real estate with The Keating Building Corporation, one of the largest private developers and general contractors in Philadelphia, assuming various roles in estimating, project engineering and project management.
Mr. Corr obtained a BA from Villanova University and is a Certified Green Building Practitioner. He has previously served on the Board of the Delaware Valley Smart Growth Alliance (DVSGA) an initiative of more than 200 government, private sector and non-profit organizations in the Greater Philadelphia tri-state region encompassing Southeastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, and Delaware. The DVSGA facilitates smart growth by recognizing proposed projects - development plans, municipal plans and conservation projects - at the earliest
stages and helping them get approved at the local level.
President & Secretary
Chris Knauer
Mr. Knauer is the President and Secretary of The Storage Investment Group, LLC. In this capacity, Mr. Knauer is responsible for the company’s strategic direction relating to equity investments, debt structuring, daily operations and portfolio valuations.
Mr. Knauer is a founder of Oaklands Business Parks, Inc. and Knauer Gorman Construction Company, Inc., both of which were established in 1984. Over 30 years in the real estate development and construction industries, Mr. Knauer has developed, owned and operated over 3 million square feet of industrial and commercial real estate in southeastern Pennsylvania. Notable projects include the development of the 305-acre Oaklands Corporate Center which included a wide array of professional buildings in the banking, retail, dining & entertainment, multifamily housing, daycare and public use sectors.
In addition to Oaklands Business Parks, Inc., Mr. Knauer founded Knauer Properties Inc., in 1998. Knauer Properties has developed, constructed and managed 500,000 square feet of self-storage, industrial and flex product in southeastern Pennsylvania since its inception.
Mr. Knauer is a second-generation real estate entrepreneur earning experience in his early years as project manager and developer at Pickering Creek Industrial Park where he eventually became Director of Finance. He is a Director and Shareholder of First Resource Bank where he actively participates as a member of several of the bank’s sub-committees. Additionally, Mr. Knauer is a member of the Chester County Commercial & Industrial Investment Council and he is also a Director of the Chester County Hospital Foundation in West Chester, PA. Mr. Knauer earned a degree in Business Administration from Elizabethtown College.
